Dr. Mohammad Afkhami-Ardekani, born on May 10, 1965, in Ardekan, Iran, is a distinguished figure in the field of medicine and endocrinology. Dr. Afkhami-Ardekani’s academic journey commenced at the School of Medical Science, University of Isfahan, where he earned his degree as a General Physician in May 1990. He successfully completed his Internal Medicine residency at the School of Medical Science, Isfahan University, in June 1993, becoming a certified specialist in Internal Medicine.

His passion for endocrinology prompted him to delve deeper into the intricacies of the endocrine system. Dr. Afkhami-Ardekani pursued a Subspecialty in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the School of Medical Science, Tehran University, earning his certification in January 1997. This marked the beginning of his journey as an expert in hormonal disorders, diabetes management, and metabolic diseases.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Afkhami-Ardekani has held numerous prestigious positions and made significant contributions to the medical community. Since 1993, he has been a dedicated member of the Faculty of Medicine, where he has served as an Assistant Professor, imparting his knowledge to countless aspiring medical professionals.

From 1997 to 1999, Dr. Afkhami-Ardekani took on the role of Dean at the School of Medicine, Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Science, showcasing his leadership abilities and commitment to academic excellence. Following this, he served as the Director of the Internal Medicine Department from 1999 to 2003, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the department’s curriculum and research initiatives.

One of his most noteworthy accomplishments is his role as the Director of the Diabetes Research Center, a position he has held since 1999.
